Gmail - Interesting Discovery

This morning I discovered that when I delete Gmail from my iPod, it is also deleted from my computer. Not a problem, just a discovery. It doesn't seem to work that way with Windows Live mail.

That's because your phone is set up for IMAP, not POP mail service?
My phone (POP) does not delete, but my tablet (IMAP) does.

you may want to check your "all mail" area, when I delete email from my ipad, it is deleted in my "inbox", but still remains under "all mail".

Right. I should have mentioned that. It's only the Inbox mail that gets deleted.
I wish I had switched to Gmail a long time ago. It receives both my Windows mail and Gmail in one place, and it's very easy and fast.

Check your gmail setup options on the iPod, there's probably a check box for "Remove mail from server when I delete it" or something similar. I just bought a new laptop and remember an option like that when I was setting up my email.

I make sure that the mail isn't deleted from the server till I want it deleted, which I usually do every night. That way, I can access it from different devices. Of course, with Gmail, everything stays in All Mail till it's deleted from there.
