I am using LR 2015.4 and recently started noticing a marked difference in terms of brightness and saturation when viewing the same image in the Library or Develop modules. The same image appears lighter and less saturated in the Library as opposed to a Develop module. This markedly visible difference is observed when switching from one module to the other. The exported image seems to be closer or the same as the image seen in the Library module. Is there some hidden setting somewhere that could be causing this?
I just checked and am seeing the same in PS where the saved image is lighter and less saturated, more washed out, in the save image than the one I've created in ACR. It appears that the LR Develop or PS ACR changes remain in those modules but aren't retained outside of these modules.

That's odd, I just took a look and the images are the same for me in both modules.

Just checked my setup - Lightroom is exactly the same in Library and Develop module, so is PS & ACR....
That's the way my used to be. That's why I was wondering if I've inadvertently changed some setting which is not obvious.

Issue resolved. The suggestion came from a link that my friend sent me:
http://photo.net/digital-darkroom-forum/00dYOvApparently my monitor was somewhat out of calibration. I've recalibrated and am back to normal in that images in Library and Develop module appear same. I would have thought that the calibration would impacted the image but not to result in different image appearance between the modules.
I just happened to get an email this morning from B&H. They have their X-Rite ColorMunki Display calibrator on sale today for ( March 7) $99.95. This discussion prompted me to order one.

Izzy, what are you using to calibrate your monitor's screen display ?
I have never done any calibration and my Dell computer is 4 years old. Thanks.

Wow that is interesting. Thanks for sharing that.
Color space subject is tricky stuff. Interesting that the monitor being out of calibration resulted in seeing a difference between modules. Strange things sometimes happen with software or firmware and hardware interactions. I had a friend who bought a new camera and it wouldn't autofocus reliably, the solution was to use faster SD cards.
Have you been doing regular calibration and this just happened or is this the first time you calibrated the monitor?
Two thoughts, if this is the first time you calibrated then all the other images you have edited are suspect for bad color. If you have been calibrating regularly and the problem suddenly appeared, then you might have an issue with the monitor.
I am using ColorMonkey on my 27 in iMac. I have been using it for several years and am pleased with it.

I have been calibrating on regular basis. The last time when the problem surfaced, calibration was overdue as I have been traveling and neglected it.

Interesting that the iMac is changing that much. I have used MacBook Pros for years and they barely change when calibrated.
That too was my experience. The images didn't appear to have changed significantly when viewed in the Library module or outside of Adobe products. The main change after recalibration seemed to have been in images viewed in the Develop module. Very strange.

In addition to your calibration, the Library module uses AdobeRGB color space, and the develop module uses ProPhoto RGB with a gamma of 1 (as opposed to 1.8 or 2.2) - that will also show colors as more saturated in develop compared to library.
