Cute kid. Nice photo and lighting, but I would like more room at the top so that his head has more space.

Nice shot. Top is cut off a bit, but very nice shot.

Overhead light is too strong, projecting shadows. you escaped racoon eyes only because the child is looking up.

Other than that you might want to do some PP to attenuate the blue bags under his eyes.

Overall, good, in focus and the kid is not bored so... Ok.

Oh, this kid is never bored. He was jumping on the bed and gave me a second to catch him in the air. I am surprised he is in focus.

Nice shot. A narrower crop might make the head crop a minor point by emphasizing the smile, etc.

Just to show what might be an alternate crop.

I agree with dandi and Fred. Fred's crop is better.

I was about to say that better cropping was needed when I saw the Fred Harwood version. I would have done the same cropping as he did.
Technically speaking and this could be very advanced for you, a light to separate his black hair from the background would have been a great choice.
It is a very nice shot.

I'd prefer a more side lighting. Too strong frontal for my portrait tastes.
