Ladybird - have I nailed it?

Not much to say really. Ladybird on my shed. Do you say Ladybug over there?
Thought about putting it in the Macro section but Nikonian is too scary.

Yes in the US we call them ladybugs .. don't be afraid of Nikonian he is a great guy and very knowledgeable.
I love the photo .. great capture.

Very nice... I actually find the nail head to be more interesting than the ladybug. :-) I suspect it tells a more interesting story.

This is a Seven-Spotted Lady beetle (Coccinella septempunctata). The nail, on the otherhand, is of unknown specie (and quite interesting).

Doesn't that make the nail head more interesting? "Unknown specie" Sounds like the ladybug is pretty well known to some of us (YOU). :-)

Don't know if it's obvious but the Ladybird (can't be 'bug because bugs suck sap....and it's not a bird...ok we'll come back to that one) is on a vertical wall and looks to be holding position with one foot.
Canon EOS-350D (Rebel to you?) with 100mm macro, hand held, natural light. Well someone might want to know.
