This is an OS issue, not likely a hardware problem. Assuming it's Windows 10, just click on "start"(lower left corner), then "my PC", and you should see the drive (typically D: ) under devices and drives. Right click on the drive, and you'll see a number of options including "pin to start" or "create shortcut" - Selecting either will give you one-click access to the drive the next time you start your computer.
