does anybody know how to clear dvr to make more space?

I presume you mean Digital video recorder. If so, just press menu button and find and delete files, or it might be that it will just record over the ones there when full ..sometimes it can be a bit of a bind..but you will eventually get there!!

If Doddy's correct and it is a Digital Video Recorder, I wonder if it works anything like my son's dashcam: When the card id full, it starts recording from the beginning overwriting the earlier video.

But did your system not come with a user's guide? I know, some guides and handbooks are notoriously difficult to understand, but you were to at least give the brand and model of your system, someone may be able to help you more than they can when you just call it "security dvr."

If it's a security DVR, both that I've had some experience with write over the oldest data. Typically there's probably a toggle in the settings menu somewhere where mine by default were already set to "on".
