There are always areas where we can better ourselves, and these are issues that B&H is committed to strengthening as we move forward. Our goal is to create an even friendlier environment for our employees, where there can be no doubt that their needs, concerns, and well being are noticeably our primary focus. ... we built this company and brand to . . give everyone the chance to succeed, to care for their families and homes, and to be happy. That will not change, but will only be improved upon.

You are talking about "goals" and "concern" but facts are what drives meaningful discussion. So list the accusations, and then answer them.

What you may not be told in these scurrilous narratives is that B&H chose to keep its jobs in New York, rather than opting, as many others do, to outsource jobs to areas overseas where labor rates are lower. Our call centers and online management teams are right here. We chose a very different route, and we continue to make daily decisions taking into account first and foremost our dedicated employees and customers and we will continue to do so.
Actually, the local sales force, with face to face questions and answers, is the reason that B&H has such a good reputation. I'm often impressed with them. But moving such people offshore is NOT an option for B&H; not unless its reputation drowns in the waters between here and offshore.
And it would also be impossible to outsource the local handling of the mountain of goods that pass through the warehouses between ports of delivery and the retail store. The only outsourcing possible, therefore, might be offshore telephone and online personnel for customers who cannot make it to the retail store.
So stop using spurious defenses for B&H. They tend to make it obvious that things are as bad as reported -- even by NYT.

I already commented regarding this reply. See above, two or three posts.
But you are right in one respect: the article is very disappointing.

I think "disappointing" is the kindest characterization for this inaccurate, biased, prejudicial piece of what sadly passes for "journalism" nowadays. We've reduced ourselves to turning to "Kim Kardashian is Nude Central" for our news.

Why don't you address some of the accusations rather than complain how inaccurate the articles are. What about the smoke and fire? What about the lack of women's restrooms at some locations and/or segregated bathrooms? I'm not an insider to this conflict, so all I can do is read the accusations and the reports by the investigating officials, and simple denials like yours.
But perhaps this forum is not the place to do it. The original post merely reported the accusations; you however are arguing and it led me to argue. So I'll stop.

There are not and have never been separate restrooms, except male & female. There is no asbestos, no lung-searing clouds of dust, no flakes of fiberglass peeling off the ceiling. The restrooms are as clean as those in my house. There are no "substandard conditions." The employees are not, as has been widely reported, "undocumented." Other than take-home pay, every B&H employee, including the warehouse workers, me and my boss, get the EXACT same menu of benefits.
There was a fire near, not in, our warehouse. At the time the NYFD specifically asked us NOT to evacuate our workers for two reasons - there was no need to do so as there was no danger at all from smoke or fire, and the evacuation of several hundred workers into a relatively small and confined space would have severely impeded the NYFD's ability to deal with the situation safely, effectively and efficiently. What you read was hyperbole and fiction designed to cast negative aspersions on us.
The allegations we had or have separate restrooms based on ethnicity are UNTRUE.
