Those of us that have it, get to upgrade free, I just haven't had a chance yet. Denoise 5, saved my bacon on a wedding shoot with a D-7100 that had to be shot at ISO 6400 through the service (no flash)

Taking my time to really nail the first photo, I was able to then just use those settings on the rest, and make the couple very happy. They've used me several times since then, so I take it that they liked the results too.

Just did the upgrade. There is some notable improvements from version 5. Also you get a stand alone version that can do batching with it. I tried it and the process time was really slow batching. Like 5 hours for 250 pictures. Overall I am happy with the upgrade but disappointed in the batching process time. I got all excited when I saw they added batching on the stand alone. DeNoise is my go to noise reduction software.

Wow! 5 hours? That would kill me for editing weddings. Thankfully, it is usually just the ceremony itself, that would cause problems (no flash), and I don't do 250 during the ceremony, but... even 2.5 hours is a VERY long time to just sit and wait. What are the specs on your computer, is it maybe a RAM thing, or is it just that slow to process?

One last thing, were these 250 still raw images, or were they converted to jpegs first?

JPEGs. It is a good fast desk top with an Intel CPU @ 2.70 GHz with 6G of memory

From those of you that use Topaz Denoise, is it better than what you can do in Lightroom or Photoshop??? I don't do a tremendous amount of low light shooting but the $30 dollars off Denoise 6 is very tempting!!

I got an email telling me that I could upgrade my deNoise free. Strange. I don't have it. So, I downloaded the free upgrade and ended up with the program free for 30 days. I already reduce noise with the pp programs that I have and, to be honest, I could not see that Topaz visibly improved what my pp programs had already done. $90 CDN for the program is a bit steep for me and I will not buy it when my trial period is finished. But, if it's the only noise reducer that you plan to use, then I think it is very good.

I tried it. But I still prefer "Noiseless", which is part of the Macphun software suite. DeNoise softens the detail too much

If you have a Mac, then try Macphun. I think their software is the best I ve used

I just downloaded the upgrade, but have not yet used it. I attended a Topaz webinar on Tuesday regarding portrait editing, and they briefly used DeNoise 6. One new feature is presets loaded with specific camera, lens and ISO settings. So, if you happen to use one of the combos they included, you can get pretty good results with one click. At first glance, however, those combos seem limited. You can make presets, for your camera, and use one click editing for other photos taken under similar conditions. I'm sure there will soon be a Topaz webinar for DeNoise 6. Check out the Topaz site. I have used DeNoise 5 and I think it does a pretty good job. The Topaz web site has archived webinars you can watch.

Thinking about 15min. per photo to do 250 photos which I figure is about average it would take you longer then 5 hours. From what I understand batch processing is only good if every photo was taken with the same setting as the first one you took....Rich

Denoise 5.1 version has been till now my noise reducing program. I just updated to Denoise 6 but I had to get in touch with Topaz because in the presets my camera was not listed. I was informed that they are working with more presets.
Once you know how to work with it I can tell you it is a great noise reducing software.

I noticed one improvement is that instead of using Topaz defaults you can now denoise by camera profiles. I have not played with it enough to see if camera profiles is significantly better than standard topaz profile.

$49.99 is US dollars. Our Canadian dollar is taking a beating right now and the deal that I just saw for us is $79.99 (Canadian dollars). Still too much for me when I am happy with the pp programs that I use.
