Nikon D7200. All JPEG's

I set my storage to RAW for slot 1 and JPEG Fine in slot 2. Shot in the field all day, about 1,000 frames and then downloaded the RAW files. They were all JPEG. Checked slot 2, all JPEG's. Checked camera settings, nothing changed. In sum I tried every possible way I could think of but could not record RAW UNLESS I set the camera to record RAW only. Contacted Nikon, they said to send it in for repair. No software updates available, yet.
Anyone else had this problem with the Nikon D7200?

When I fist got mine both were jpeg, then I changed it in setup menu to raw 1 - jpeg 2. No problems since.

After setting slot 1 & 2, you have to go to the next selection in the menu, "image quality" and select "raw +JPEG"

The next two menu options choose size and compression.

Open your owner's manual to page 268.

I haven't had any issues at all. I switched to all JPEG (very briefly) and then switched back with no problems.

I wonder if it might be what you're using to determine the file type. Each RAW file contains a small JPEG (so the picture can be viewed). Maybe that's why you think they are JPEG.

I HAVE MY D7100 set up like you want... 1=RAW and 2=normal JPEG.

When you turn on the camera, what does the window show in the lower left corner? Mine shows. RAW+Normal. Showing what the camera is going take. The "normal" refers to the JPEG compression.

RTFM. I can't believe Nikon tech support didn't walk you through the right pages!

Just set to record RAW since there is a JPEG imbedded in the RAW
