Ordered a used lens from B&H yesterday. A Nikon 18 - 105 for my D5500.
I already have an 18-55 and a 55-300, but I always seem to be changing for the range in between.
On my Pentax ME Super I always had my 28-85 lens which I used 90% of the time.
Hope the 18-105 works as I think it will and be my go to lens.

Should work for you... depending on what type of photography you are doing at the time.

Nature and landscapes, and hot rod shows.
I think it will be a good all around lens for walking when I don't want to carry all my gear.

Good choice. Create some outstanding images with it.

You can't lose with B&H. Good camera too. The Nikon D5500. Enjoy your 18-105mm lens.

Oh oh. Another "I just bought this and waiting for the brown truck" post. We can't wait.

If the 28-85 worked for you on the 35mm film camera, this new one, with the wider range, will most likely rarely come off the D5500.

You know, for someone who is ALWAYS complaining about the posts people put in this forum you sure do spend an awful lot of time here.

If it makes you sooooo unhappy to read the threads, why keep doing it? :?: :?:

Makes me happy and some of the idiotic stuff is hilarious. And yours would be at the top of the list.

So... you're saying that being rude, nasty, and antisocial towards people makes you happy?

This is a great walk around lens, should cover all your needs unless you do wildlife or macro. Disney World uses this lens with all the photographers shooting street and character locations. Strong lens, we use it with the D7100.

I don't know. It seems to me that it would have been better for YOU to ask HIM not give people happy about a new lens a "hard time."

Right?

Thank you. I was unsure between the 18-105 and 18-140. It seemed like the 18-140 encompasses what I would be doing most of the time. If I need more I have my 55-300.
