I spent a little time with my scope tonight and captured some shots of the Flame Nebula even though the Moon was pretty bright.
Tomorrow I'll get it before the Moon comes up.
Celestron 9.25" w/ Nikon Modified D600, 5x300 sec Lights, 5x300sec Darks, 5x1/4000 sec Bias.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and preprocessed there.
Final processing in Lightroom, Topaz Detail3 and DeNoise.
Nicely done.
Which Ha filter are you using? The Baader or the Orion?
Those seem to be the most advertised. I'm wondering how well the Orion ultra narrow band works. It's on sale at Amazon for just under $170.

Thank you very much Jim.
Sorry it's not an external filter. It is the Hydrogen/alpha 656nm Baader Modified Camera.
I do have an OIII Filter I want to try in this area of the sky, maybe tonight.

So the camera I got from you should pull this as well?
Isn't that the same modification that this one had?
Or was this one only IR?

If I can get the clouds to go away..
I might just have to try and get some long exposures with it.
Thanks...

Pah.. small screen lie to old mans eye.
I did get a nice shot of Orion but something went South on my alignment.
Here is the unprocessed single and I see that I need to do a good cleaning session on the sensor.
4 minute single at ISO 400 with f/10 fixed 2000mm and converted DSLR.
I like the out of focus Halo in the flame shot. I had used the mask and had a nice 3 point star on my final alignment star. When I went to Orion, I noticed it was off and manually tweaked it on the view screen.
Please feel free to play with these.
Now I'm guilty of stealing a thread. Bad dog..
