I just ordered a Canon 6D with Pixma-Pro 100 Printer. With it comes an American Express Rewards Card for $350.
I know you can use it to purchase things, but would prefer to cash it and put the money into the bank. Does anyone know exactly how this can be done??

I've used the cards but never tried to cash one in, although I believe I read somewhere it can be done. I think the quickest way to get an accurate answer would be to call AMEX customer service. If the number isn't on the card it will be on their website.

I dont think you can, There are companies that will buy it from you. but you'll lose 25 % to 50% of its value.

It seem we are doomed to this new way for CC companies to try to get us to use their product obviously hoping we will continue to use the cards after the credit is gone. Trying to get something for the odd amount left is fun too, I also found the limitations of where a card would be accepted a nuisance and threw it away when it ran low.

It's not a regular credit card. It's equivalent to a prepaid gift card.

Hi, they are not cash redeemable but can be used anywhere American Express is accepted in store or for online purchases.

Many people sell them on kijiji and eBay but are going to take at least a 10% hit, why not use it to purchase your gas or groceries and put the equivalent money away in the bank.

It is amazing how many of these never get redeemed at all! make sure you use it.

I have one of the Canon AmEx rebate cards and it is not redeemable for cash. But you can sell it if you really need the cash right away. List on UHH Classified. Somebody will certainly pay $325, maybe more, since the card is just as good as cash.

I used mine, also from Pixma Pro 100 purchase, at restaurants. Kept cash I otherwise would have spent.
Works like any other credit card, just clip the receipts or note on the card what has been spent.

If it has a PIN number you can get a MO at the grocery store,

For 350.00 ask for 349.99, remember their is a 70 cent fee,,

Spend the 30 cent on your groceries at check out,

If this is equivalent to the Amex Pre-paid card, have a look here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/content/prepaid/american-express-prepaid-card/faqs.html
especially the question about using the card at an ATM.

If it can't be done (I don't know), next question is: Can you use this card for purchases anything where Amex is accepted? If so, just use the card for things you'd buy anyway, then take that same amount from your paycheque and put it in the bank.

Just use it as cash and each time take that moue money from your left pocket and put it in your right pocket. When the card runs out go to the bank and empty your right pocket.

I doubt that you can do what you want. The reason for the cards in the first place is because a certain percentage of people with forget about or lose them.

I also got that rebate card, and I used it to buy things I would ordinarily buy, rather than using cash. If you do that, you can put $350 in cash into your bank.
