New monitor for mac book

I have a Mac book made in 2013 that I had hooked up to a monitor. The monitor finally died last night.

I'm investigating new monitors and I keep gravitating to the Apple Thunderbolt 27", but I'm wondering if there are any others out there.

The mac is used mainly for photography and video editing.

Thanks,
Ed

Is a Mac HDMI output for external monitors? If so, consider a Dell UltraSharp 29 Ultrawide

I've been considering a couple by ViewSonic:
1. ViewSonic® VG2860mhl-4K 28” Ultra HD LED
2. VP2780-4K 27" Widescreen LED Backlit 4K LCD Monitor from B&H
I'm leaning toward the unit from B&H. Both are 4K, both less expensive than the Apple unit.

My Thunderbolt 27" is arriving today. I wouldn't consider any thing else. I'm an all Mac/Apple person ie: iPhone, iPad, Macbook pro 15" and 2 iMacs. Got rid of windows based anything almost a year ago and couldn't be happier.

Not gonna lie...but it rocks. We have a thunderbolt monitor in our office, but I prefer the LG...mostly because my programs have tons of palettes that I need to have open all at once, and this width works better for me.

or was your comment on how messy my desk is ;-)

LOL. My desk is much messier so I don't really notice that. Amazing monitor!

I don't dare turn the camera left or right...the area in front of my monitor would be considered spotless.
