Thanks Larry, they are beautiful. You should post one of yours. There is also one called a downy wood pecker. He is smaller and more white and black. I doubt I will get a shot of him. He doesn't come around much.

Paula, excellent photos. Woodpeckers are hard for me to catch like you have in this series. On an aside, how do you like that feeder?

Thanks for posting, Greg

Great shot, I haven't seen one of this species yet here, still looking. I have a similar feeder but my woodpeckers seem to prefer suet blocks.

Thanks Earl ,Donna had told me before that she shoots birds in SP mode so that's what I have been doing and it works out well for me. My sister and I were shooting and she asked why I was shooting in SP and I said, because I can :) I guess we all have to find our own mode, even if it's different from most peoples.:)

Thanks Wayne, they are not people birds:) They hide well, you just have to keep at it. It took me a while to get a good one of him.

Thanks Greg and yes they are hard to catch. I like the feeder but as for the birds they will go to the small square one that is close to it most of the time. And also I like the feeder that is on your profile.
