That is pretty.
What was the issue? The other shot looked like it was not even close to focused.
This one is nice and clean.

Thank you very much Jim.
Yesterday I couldn't get it focused I guess.
I used the same focus I had on the M13 for the Sun today and it worked

That is Great, Craig!
Sure is a full frame, and great detail, sharp!

If you could, how about one with your Ha7nm filter?
(If you take special requests...)

Lol thankfully you didn't have to redo your setup. Nice image.

Thank you very much Sonny, yes it does fill the frame, I just clipped a little bit.
I don't think the Ha filter will do anything for it but a soon as the sun comes out again I am going to give it go.
I would still like to know how to get pics of the Sun Flares.
Who knows the secret to that????

It was total operator error on my part Matthew.
If I can learn to focus my own scope I'll be well off.

The Baader continuum filter helps but for that you need a HA filter but even 3mm is way too wide. Something in the range of 10a, tilt tuning is how you really dial it in, is what you shoot for but then you have to worry about the scope getting too hot so an ERF is needed. I like the views through the Ka scopes, something about a purple sun.

As an edit they also have the wedges that provide a white light source and limit the amount of light and heat put out to the eyepieces.

In other words It's out of our reach for now.

You could go to the Sky and Telescope page and rummage the classifieds. There is a nice Sun scope listed but its a little high for a used scope. Its almost the same as the one listed below it new. I thought about offering 1K but don't have the funds readily available. I'm thinking ahead to next years full eclipse.

August 21, 2017 in the USA Full Eclipce.
I'm not spending 1K+ on a Solarscope.
