On Monday I hope to post another "Thinking in Black & White" topic in For Your Consideration. The theme will be high contrast lighting, such as with shadows, silhouettes, graphic shapes.

Would love to have you join in and share your images in that thread. If you aren't already subscribed to FYC, here is the homepage:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-119-1.html

Here are some I shot yesterday with that theme in mind. Over-exposed by 1 stop to make it easier to blow some of the highlights in pp (yes, on purpose lol, for artistic purposes), and because snow will photograph too dark when you let the camera make all the decisions :)

Thanks for your visit!

Linda, I love those photos and think they are some of your best ever. Maybe it is because I like that style of photography but you did well.

Sorry, Linda, I just had surgery so won't be contributing much in the way of photos for quite some time. Nothing serious, just some shoulder stuff, but I doubt the doctor wouldn't even want me to be typing right now so let's not tell him. I will be happy to see others contributions.

A wonderful portrayal of the starkness of winter, Linda. Well done.

Thank you very much, John! So pleased you enjoyed. Shot these yesterday 30 miles north of Yakima. Most of the snow has melted in my own neighborhood :)

Interesting studies of lines and shapes. My pick would be the first one, I like the composition and balance best in that, or at least find it the most appealing to me. I like the choice of overexposing this, as it concentrates on the basic shapes and doesn't distract with snow or detail outside those shapes. Nice set!
