i have enjoyed reading uhh for about a month now and am captivated with the world of photography along with the input and humor of some of the posters. i am new to dslr photography just purchasing an entry level canon xsi with the lens kit. i do not know alot about all the numbers and jargon that is posted, but that is why i am here to learn, so with that being said, be gentle on me.

Welcome to the forum, Gforce. It's a good place to learn all that jargon - with people willing to explain it all.

if you want to understand what all the jargon and numbers and words mean, go to a bookstore and get yourself a good intro to photography book. National Geographic makes a good one. dummies series isn't bad either. their is a learning curve to get good at it, and a book can gointo more detail then what people can post here. If their is a local camera club in your area i recomend joining. You'll make friends, find a mentor and learn alot. also the best way to get better is to shoot, shoot, shoot, post some of your work here. develop some thick skin as people have differnt ways of communicating help. take what you have learned apply it shoot some more repeat often. get the fundamentals down first worry about photoediting and tricks later.
