Question to DxO OP and LR users

I have been using DxO OP for some years now and I really enjoy the corrections, especially Prime, Clearview and Viewpoint. I occasionally use PSE10 for others corrections. My question is : what are the advantages of using LR instead of PSE and what are the potential pitfalls?

Most of us find Lightroom easier to use than PSE. It is the Organizer and ACR combined in one simple interface on steroids.

Lightroom enables simple application of the same changes to many images at once. You can also save the changes as Presets. Presets are similar to Actions in Photoshop but easier to create and use. You apply them with one click. You can also apply them on import. Thus they are ideal for the photographer that shoots in RAW.

While you can apply Actions created in Photoshop in PSE it does not allow crating Actions. PSE only allows making some changes to a number of images at once.

Lightroom never changes your original image file. Thus you do not need to "save as".

Lightroom makes it simple to open an image in Photoshop or PSE Editor for work that requires layers.

I use DxO for RAW conversions and as I have PS5 I also use bridge to review files and their folder structures. I have no idea about Lightroom but I see a lot of comment about it cataloguing.
I set up my file structures generally by Activity, Year and Event. Thus I see no need for Lightroom. The main disadvantage is that PS5 doesn't read the RAW files but as I can see the jpgs that doesnt matter to me. I can reprocess files in DxO if I need to and I also use Nik on the jpgs sometimes.

Thank you for your answers. I was actually looking for advice from folks using Dxo as plug-in in Lightroom to understand the benefits vs. my configuration and to learn whether there are specific issues in their work flow. But it seems that the LR/DxO configuration is not htat popular.

DXO does not do local adjustments, but LR does do local adjustments so I use DXO as a plug in to LR.

Thanks. Have you experienced issues in moving from LR to OP and vice-versa? E.g. are corrections made in LR carried over into OP and corrections made in OP carried back into LR?

In short answer yes to both questions.

PSE is an 8 bit pixel editing program that can do raw conversion, and has a file browser. LR is a catalog-based digital image manager, a 16 bit raw converter, and a few other things that might be useful. Comparing the two is like comparing a motor scooter to a Volvo SUV. Both can get you from point A to point B, but there is a difference.
