I think it would be interesting, informative as well as provocative, to see what YOU would be pontificating as if YOU were a candidate.

So, let's start with (assume you are participating in any of the debates):

Commentator: "Mr./Ms. (fill in the blank) how would you resolve the national debt of over nineteen trillion dollars? Why or why not is this an important issue?"

Your Answer: ?????

cut foreign gifts 100%

cut military industrial complex 30% (too many $600 hammers and too many $1600 toilets...

six to ten years, we paid off ...

oh yeah, pay congress 10X min wage till debt paid off, should only take four years with that proviso.

Umm... what are "foreign gifts"? According to this source: http://www.nationalpriorities.org/blog/2013/05/06/how-much-foreign-aid-does-us-give-away/?gclid=CjwKEAiAuea1BRCbn-2n7PbLgEMSJAABQvTTWYpVTXTlyOfRLrZeCCvix56aOjjwWwmMaiGlgJ4CkBoCj3Dw_wcB

its under ONE PERCENT! Still a lot of money, but hardly a budget buster.

I can agree to an extent with cutting the defense budget. Congressional salaries? Agreed, its a lot of money, but hardly a budget buster. Its their ACTIONS which are costing the big bucks.

Budget:
The money spent has to be less than the money collected. Congressmen get paid last.

Military:
Don't start any wars, if we have to put boots on the ground, congressmen's families are the first to go | Competitive bidding on all contracts | put military to work rebuilding our infrastructure... roads, bridges

Term Limits:
2 terms and you're out (Ok, 3 for members of the house)

Income Tax:
graduated flat tax | cap on earnings ($100,000,000/year) | if people make too much money they have undue power in our government | zero tax until 2x poverty rate | no tax on SS. (that's double-dipping). | Mail completed forms to everyone... if you agree simply sign it, if you don't modify it... it shouldn't be like a poker game, govt. keeping cards close to the vest.

Lobbyists:
Eliminate legalized bribery completely | everyone should have same access to government officials | eliminate industry insiders from regulatory agencies.

Healthcare:
Simply lower the age of medicare to 26. Single Payer, ease insurance companies out of the process, they add no value and take 30%. | businesses will get rid of major expense and then hire/fire employees based on contribution, not health care.

Elections:
Corporations, cannot participate in elections at all. | any candidate with 100,000 signatures gets $5,000,000 plus 10 hours/month free airtime. (includes SNL appearance)| no private donations to campaigns.

Immigration:
Pressure our allies to take immigrants with similar cultures (e.g. Syrian refugees go to Egypt and Saudi Arabia) | drone patrols and extensive cameras on border, use military to stop illegal entry | everybody already here has a path to citizenship through service to country, either military or something like CCC

Minimum wage: adjust to price index... start at $10/hour in 2017. | Tips are not part of wages!

ISIS:
Support local governments in ridding terrorists, stop being world police. | Disrupt their money supply.

VOTE GREEN IN TWENTY-SIXTEEN!!!!!

Umm... what are "foreign gifts"? Accord... (show quote)

the UN’s 193 member states, the U.S. pays for 22 percent of the General Assembly’s regular budget, and more than 28 percent of peacekeeping—in both cases the highest rate of any member state. And traditionally, the U.S. has bankrolled roughly 25 percent of the much larger, overall UN system, for which the UN in 2012 reported revenues totaling $41.5 billion.

all for the persuasion of of votes hopefully to vote our way.

Wasn't interesting or provocative at all. Goes to show most folks don't know enough about what they complain about to arrive at any kind of informed opinion. we are in deep shit!

What is a graduated flat tax? I thought if it is flat it isn't graduated and if it is graduated it isn't flat.
