Hi there. is anyone using the Phottix Odin triggers and receivers? I am having trouble figuring things out and would love some advice on adjust the flashes from the TCU.

I would appreciate someone well versed in this system giving me a shout.

Thanks.

Love mine!
What problem are you having, what camera system are you using?
Mine are at work, so I don't have access here at home.

I love mine too! I use them with Canon speedlights and also with my really old Novation studio lights. That way, I can be wireless. B&H phone person helped me with the right connector for the Novatrons. They are great.

I am using Nikon system. D7100 camera. Long story short i have a collection of Yongnu and a Sigma. I realized after purchasing the Phottix and 3 recievers that these off brands will not do anything more than manual firing and i can live with that or sell them and go with nikon flashes..... now for my question:

I rented a nikon SB910 and TTL seems to work. i can use flash compensation up and down remotely. Can either of you educate me on whether or not when i have the flash and trigger set to manual should i be able to adjust the power setting from 1/1 down to 1/128 remotely? If so what settings would accomplish that?

If i want to dial down remotely from 1/1 to 1/16 how do i do that remotely.

Starbucks gift certificate if you can help me make this work!! :)

I use mine on manual almost all the time.
Set the transmitter channel to M, the flash to remote and adjust the output with the buttons... Again, I'm not at home to have it in my hands and have a busy day tomorrow. Will get back to you when I can.

Just don't expect to see the settings change on the flash unit itself. The receiver communicates to the flash and you don't get visual confirmation on the lcd of the flash, only on the transmitter. But the flash will respond properly. This confused me at first because I was expecting to see the changes on the lcd of the flash unit via the receiver.

Set the channel (1-4) and group (A,B,C) on the Odin trigger, and turn it ON.

Set the flash to ON (not Remote or Master).

Set the flash mode to TTL (not Manual).

Set the Odin TCU to the same channel as the trigger. Select the group corresponding to the trigger to Manual (push SEL until the group is highlighted, then MODE to set to Manual.
Adjust the power level on the TCU with the +/- keys. This will manually control flash output.

If you switch the Odin TCU to TTL, then the flash will operate in TTL mode.

D'oh! You're right.
I was thinking Phottix but used Nikon Commander mode settings.
I owe you both a grande coffee.

The Odin II set up looks really nice!
Link HERE. Is this the one you have? Mine is the older model.

The Odin II was announced at the end of last year, but I haven't seen them yet. I have the previous Odin; quite sufficient for my use (2 SB910's and 1 SB800).
