This camera, the Canon 1DXii doesn't excite me so much. The Nikon D5 appeals to me better. I'd rather pay the extra $500.00 to acquire the Nikon. Besides, I already have Nikon lenses. The Canon 1DXii is suppose to be priced at $6000.00 when released. A take on all events camera besides the bulk size and weight. These cameras are out of my league due to the prices. I might win the lottery. Who knows?

For a everyday working pro, especially in the areas of sports and wildlife, this will sell quickly at the $6K price. What powerhouse! What I also find interesting is the "seamless" sensor (via lensing at the sensor) and that Canon considers 20 megapixels more than adequate for professional levels. Being a 4/3rds shooter, I know this camera's abilities are way past what Olympus and Panasonic can do. But I still find it interesting that Canon, Olympus, and Panasonic think 20 megapixels is more than adequate for professional levels.

I agree. However some say 20.2 megapixels is sufficient for the Canon 1DXii.

It's a heck of a camera. But I won't pay that much for a body. About all I see that is does that the 7D Mark II doesn't is shoot 14fps verses 10fps. Yes, there are other things it does better than the 7DII, but they don't matter much to me other than the frame rate and buffer size. Now if they sold it for a grand more than the 5DIII or 5DS then I'd consider it.

The previous 1DX was originally $6,800.
