Not *quite* minerals, but...

Some of these *do* have mineral glass faces, so does that count?

I had a day when there were no fresh samples to play with, so I started focus-stacking some of my wristwatch collection. Nothing special, but I do tend to accumulate watches as time goes on... As before, there is a natural light shot, and a stack.

The yellow-faced Uzi is my favourite watch. The hands and numbers are truly luminous - they use radioactive tritium, so don't rely on external light to make them shine. Trouble is, one of the pins which holds the strap on keeps coming out. Actually, no, that's not quite the case. I had a new pin put in a couple of months ago, and that one just started falling out too, so I guess the fault is in the watch case. The old strap would hold onto the pin for me, but the new strap I have on just lets it fall. I was without it for about a week until I saw the gleam on the bathroom rug...

The one with the red ring around it is new - I got it because it is light-powered. It sits on top of my carborundrum (sp?) block, under the table lamp. So, it is always charged up when I have to grab it after finding the Uzi has pinned out on me again!

I like the way the stacking process duplicates the second hand of the watches! On the 3rd image, the natural light shot took long enough for the second hand to sweep on around too... Those with sharp eyes will notice how I managed to get the stacked shots of the Seiko to have the second hand in the same place each time. Well... It has a dead battery... I have several of these, with the metal bracelet strap, but I can't wear them. My weight fluctuates constantly, although I am *sloooooowwwwwly* losing overall. Trouble is, my wrists are a different size almost every other day! You can't adjust these straps finely enough for me to be comfortable, so I end up with Velcro straps mostly. I guess I *could* get these changed out for Velcro, but just never bothered.

Not sure if these will be of any interest to anyone other than me, but I had to post *something*, before people forgot about me... Jeez, I am waffling today!

Phil, you are an entertaining fellow. I thoroughly enjoyed your intro and your post. Super shots of your watch collection, and your stacking is excellent as always. I love watches too but don't really have a collection.

Let see, 6 watches. One for each wrist, one for each ankle, one for neck. Where do you wear #6?

Ah, but that's not all... There are more to come! I suppose I could wear 4 or 5 on each wrist, then one of them is almost certain to have the right time!

Actually, my bus has 2 digital clocks in it, one in the dash and one in the radio, and it is almost impossible to keep them displaying the same time...
