Photographing Cooked Hedgehogs and Ostrich Legs in Space

Perhaps we just need Kentucky Fried Ostrich here.

How come we have a discussion about cooking remaining in the main photography discussion while an excellent post about one of the most iconic photographs in history gets shunted to the links and resources section?

With due respect to Ron, since I think his idea has much more merit than it has been given, the 'Earthrise' discussion has far greater photographic relevance.

Perhaps this explains why admin sometimes has his head stuck in a dark place!

I've run into the same issue. Posts which are 100% photography related are moved to the links section because there is a link to an article related to the material I posted. Oh well.

Not a good way to get the admin attention here, favorable that is.

I have noticed that some of my 'creations' create a dilemma for the admin as I have seen some of my topics move from one section to another SEVERAL TIMES...

I was posting all my links onto the link section per default since the TOU specifies no link or pictures in the MPD (main photography discussion) yet a few times I noticed them moved to the GD (General discussion). I once asked for clarification and was answered: 'The link is not about photography'

Now I am as confused as the admin as to what goes where.... Especially that I once asked why we could not use a link or image to start a discussion in MPD and was rebuffed...

Just saying...

Agreed, but that is the point. I was intrigued and liked your cookbook post / concept. I think it has potential if handled correctly.

As to where things get shifted, that is admin and site policy, but whether or not it makes sense is subject to discussion...

I made a correction to my initial post...

Admin wants photographic links only in LS (Link section) and systematically moves links in and out unless posted in a 'private section'.

Soooo, as you typed: His board, his rules.

Edit: I think that the ostrich (really an emu) is not wrong per say as when posting a link few will pickup on it and create a discussion. You will get TY and the like but no serious answer, one way or another.

OK. Thanks for that. I don't necessarily think that the policy is a good policy, although it is easy to administer. That said, I have a better idea of how to deal with it. we'll see what happens....

Eat well, live long, and prosper!

And why do so many collections of "vacation snapshots" end up here? It seems like a collection of arbitrary decisions. I think the real question is, how much can we question those decisions before we get banned?
