For Lilo - Some Black Crowned Night Herons

Your post of your 2 beautiful images of a black crowned night heron got me thinking. Way back in June, I was out documenting Momma Osprey and her chicks and came across a couple of BCNH's near the osprey.
These are no where near as good as yours, but I hope you enjoy them anyway. They were shot with my D5200 and my Canon SX50.

Thank you. I believe I shot that one with my SX50 from quite a distance, then cropped it and just used the "enhance" option on my iPad. The reflection came up better in the image than it looked "in person".

nice shots mike. never seen one in a tree like you got in #1 and your final shot is really nice. awesome reflection and background colors. gary

Thanks, Angela. The composition was courtesy of the bird. He just stayed put for me. You just have to shootem' where you find 'em!
