I was his age, when I got my first camera, and even though its been about 60 years ago, I still not only remember getting my Kodak brownie Hawkeye, I still have it on a shelf, displayed, just above my computer..

I too brought a similar toy digi. camera plus a plastic tripod and ready to give to my grand son next month on his 3-year Birthday. Hopefully this may let him to develop a hobby in photography.

I"m glad to hear, that your grandson, will be getting a new camera, Incidentally, here is a photo, of the camera that, I got for my 8th birthday, over 60 years ago.....which now is proudly displayed, and retired on a shelf, above my computer....

I think he likes to see me using camera, every time he comes to my place he asks me to let him use my camera. I will set my P&S on the tripod and let him play with it. He is very happy and snaps pictures continuously, have great fun!
