Color in the midst of a sea of ice.

We were on the Southern fringe of the latest big snow storm. We got some ice accumulation, but, very little snow. In the local area, there were trees and limbs down, some of which took down power lines. But, we had no interruption.

The ice, however, made for some interesting photographs. I have included one here of a Blue Jay resting near the bird feeder. The coating of ice meant lots of bird and squirrel visitors to the feeder.

Yesterday morning, the sun was bright and I tried to capture the effect of the sun glinting through the ice-coated trees. My camera, however, did not record what my eye was seeing, no matter what I tried. Oh, well... I guess I need to study and learn how to do that.

However what your camera caught is quite lovely! Did you by any chance have a polarizer on?

We can't always capture what we want but often with post processing we get more. In this case it is a beautiful image as is. Congratulations.
