I have been putting in a lot of hours at work. But I leave the camera in the truck and have been missing a lot of interesting things. By the time I get the camera they are gone.
I have been looking at the Olympus TG4. It is water proof and looks pretty good. But the reviews go both ways. Good and bad.
I am not really needing a water proof camera. But one that is good for light weather would be fine.
Just need some ideas on what everyone can steer me to.:)

what's wrong with your phone. most phones are as capable as a pocket camera and are usually in our pockets.

How much money are you willing to spend and what exactly are you looking for Erv?

I use a Nikon S33 Coolpix as a pocket camera. It's waterproof, shockproof and coldproof for about $110.

LOL! It is a work phone and the camera sucks on it. But it is free.:):)

Hi Cholly. Just a small but good little camera that I can fit in a pocket. I guess any where around $400.

Hi Jim. Are you happy with the pictures you are getting out of it? I will go take a look.:) I don't need a big zoom with it. It is just for those shots I see when I don't have the big camera.:) And most of those are fairly close around work. Like yesterday I saw a Robin sitting in a tree next to me eating berries off of it. He was only 15 feet away. But when I got the camera and went back, he was gone.:(

That looks pretty cool. Let me think about it.:) Can't beat the price. Why don't you keep it?

...keeping it violates my wife's "if you haven't used it in six months, you don't need it" rule. It's her form of clutter control. It's a pretty good rule actually.

Decide if you need to have a view finder. That will narrow you choices considerably.
I do not know what your budget is, but I am a Nikon guy and would suggest a Nikon Coolpix. It will cost you $107 and comes in 2 colors. Waterproof and reasonable.

Erv - Here's my take on the Nikon Coolpix S33 and some shots we took last summer in the Cook Islands (lots of water, wind and rain) with this camera:
1) No optical viewfinder, only rear LCD screen (can be tough in bright light)
2) Video button on the top left side can be hit accidently, but I don't use this camera to take video, just a thing to note
3) Battery must be charged in the camera only, using a supplied external cord, hence I bought a second battery so I'd always have a backup battery
4) Love the small size and pocketability and rugged build and the photos are good quality for this type of camera
5) Menu easy to use but limited choices are available
If you can, go to a camera shop and try one out.
Good luck with you choice, chase
