More Newfoundland

These are more shots I got this summer in Newfoundland. We were there for about 2.5 months in our motorhome and loved it. We saw what I call "Horsehead Iceberg" near St. Anthony's in the north in June. L'Anse aux Meadows is also near St. Anthony's. It is a known landing site where the Vikings established a Norse settlement on North America around the year 1000, way before Columbus. The structure in the shot is a reconstruction of what is thought to be there living quarters. Fascinating place with very knowledgable guides. The last shot is an Atlantic Puffin on an island near Witless Bay.

Newfoundland is a wonderful place! It offers many opportunities tor photographers of all persuasions. The scenery is magnificent, the villages quaint and the people wonderfully friendly. We spent four weeks there a few years ago and it was not nearly long enough. On the way to St Anthony's we saw 14 moose and a caribou in one morning. I want to go back and spend a whole summer there. An RV is probably the best way to seen the province.

We spent 2.5 months and it wasn't enough either. One couple on the ferry took their 5th Wheel over for only 3 days! B&B's would be another good way to go but, I agree, RVing Newfoundland is the best way.
