Rechargable AA batteries...

Any of you engineers have a good handle on what the differences are between, say an Enloop battery and an Amazon Basics battery?
What do you strobists out there use?

I have always been using Eneloop batteries and been very happy with them! Never had any issues and I like how long they hold their power!!

Enloop user myself for all my flashes...it holds a charge better than any other brand rechargeable I've tried.

I have been a longtime Eneloop user. Someone told me that the Amazon batteries were made by Eneloop so I bought a set of eight (because of the pricing special) to try them out. They did NOT hold a charge well at all in my Nikon SB800 flash units. Eneloop are just much better and I would not recommend the Amazon batteries based upon my non-scientific experience.

I have several different brands of rechargeable, including Eneloops & Amazon Basic's.... it seems to me that the Eneloops do a bit better than the Amazon Basic's. They manage to hold their charge a long time, last a good period in my flash and recharge to their capacity every time.
I have many of the 1900 mAh Eneloops.
The Amazon Basic's I have are supposed to be 2400 mAh AA's, but they do not seem to get close to that capacity on charge, nor do they seem to last as long as the Eneloops.

Seems to fit what I see - Amazon Basic's vs Eneloops ;)

I do use an Eneloop charger, as I have found that they don't work as well in other brand chargers.

I make use of a La Crosse BC-700 charger and my Eneloops seem to do well.

I have both, and they seem interchangeable. It would take a careful test of many batteries to reveal a distinct difference, aside from the price.
I prefer this type of battery to the old rechargeables since they are always ready to go. When I use the other rechargeables, I have to charge them for hours first. I'd never go back to buying and throwing away batteries.

Started using Eneloop batteries and the Sanyo charger a few years ago. Have never had a problem or had to buy a battery since. Would not even consider another battery.

This is awesome info. :thumbup: I've been leaning toward the Enloops but thought I get a feel from the UHH gang. I'm leaning toward a "smart" charger too.

Ditto on AA eneloops. Have been using them in flashes for about 1-1/2 years. No failures yet. Using the Sanyo charger for eneloops and it works well.
Don't know anything about the Amazon brand. Will continue to use what works for me.
