I shot this early Nov 2015. It got pretty cool that night and the bee expired, so I had plenty of time to shoot.

The insect is a syphrid fly, also called hoverflies, sometimes called flower flies, or sweat bees.

How fortunate for you that the bee "ceased to be." The water drops and perfect bee placement make for one great photo!
