I have quite a few of these, assorted slabs of 'stuff'. Some of them are polished, but I also sprayed them with high-gloss varnish to get a good shine. Not something that a purist would do, it seems, but I like the look.
Most of these would probably look better face-on, but I have been having so much fun with the stacking, that I just continued with it!

These are all beautiful! Have you ever posted a wide view of your collection? I'm interested to see how you have all your treasures displayed.

Here are a few I took a couple of years ago. I have acquired a few more since then... The collection has been static for a while, but since starting this journey of photographing them, I have bid on several new samples. Don't win them all, but I have a couple of nice new ones, and a few more in transit.
I actually still have quite a few to post. I don't want to tire people of them, so I am only posting a few each day.

Super, thanks! I'd sure hate to be in charging of dusting :)

That's easy - I just don't do it! Don't care about a little dust, but it has been a pain photographing them and retouching out all the microscopic cat hairs! Can't see them with the naked eye, but they sure show up good when they are stacked! I think those hairs must fly around everywhere... When I tried scanning my old negatives a few years ago, they made it impossible. Spent so much time retouching, it would have been faster to go back to the scene and shoot them again!
And more beautiful shots, Phil. And what an impressive collection, which I'm enjoying seeing you post, by the way.
