Here are some more photos from this past week. Sorry if it's too many.

These are all beautiful, Jimber. If you cut out all the trees and put them on a background and the icy logs in front it would look like an alien forest. Some of the ice patterns on the trees look very ethereal.

Some left over from the last challenge -a study on one leaf and in black and white. The 4th is a just for fun one. Couldn't figure how to get in there with them and take the picture at the same time. - they won't sit for a timer. :) The leaves seem to be "missing" something. I Tweaked the curves as the last thing (your tip, Clicker) and either it's the subject or something I did/didn't do.Any ideas?

Some of you may have missed the calendar due to Holiday "stuff" so here it is again. Thank you, Sharon. Never to early too reserve a date to host in February.

Not a cat lover but I do like these!

One of the things I am trying to learn is how to create a mood and also how to turn my photos to a good black and white. I really like On1 with its presets, etc. I am taking care of 3 cats for some friends as they have gone to Florida for 6 weeks. The cats are affectionately know as "The Boys". I took 1 picture of each of them and made a collage for their "mom & dad". After some extra effects, I decided to turn it to b/w. Let me know what you think. I am likely going to print it out, frame it and give it to "mom & dad" when they come back.

Hi Folks.....that time again and happy to be hosting.

Want to thank all of you for your commitment and also Clicker the Calendar Girl.

Starting off a bit differently today, a new goal for me to try and improve my B&W and because of the street photo shoot we did in Portland plus thefine examples of Bushido andEdgorm, among others. Also I want to make a sort of story with these photos so as they might be more easier understood

Thanks for hosting FS and another year starts, looking forward to your b/w shots with stories RR

I like the subject very much Pat and the fact that you used a vignette to keep the eye coming back to the subject and to me you have created a mood. As always, the "download" is the best way to look at the photos on the threads. On download, I am not sure if they need to be adjusted a bit or not. There is a fine line between contrast and either changing the "mood" or blowing out the background on these. I would like to see what others think.

Maybe the way its uploaded to UHH but the b/w seems very dark and the cat on the right I can hardly see but love the color shot Clicker

How about keeping the cats in color and turning the sofa b/w, just and idea
