Should the Attic be shut down?

It seems like most of the threads in the attic quickly degenerate into the hurling of rude insults lacking any redeeming social value; it is all too easy to get caught up in this infantile behavior. There seems to be less and less respectful, informed discussion that would further the body politic. Is it time for the Administrator to shut down the attic?

Many of the discussions do end up in personal attacks, often very infantile. See any thread SBW, bvm, ken hubert and some others are participating. I expect these guys to be half dead spitting their hate out on the pages of UHH.

No definitely not. If you can't stand the heat don't enter the kitchen.
The Attic has its own way of policing itself. That's the problem we have in this country today. We want protection so in turn we have a govt. that overreaches trying to protect the helpless. But at the same time limiting or trying to limit personal freedoms. Leave it be it allows for some to safely relieve frustrations blow off steam in a safe way.
I'm sure none here would do so. But wouldn't you rather someone popping off safely in a forum as opposed to snapping in the real world doing harm to those around them. Think about it; it's a nice safe outlet. If you read in the end you really might learn something. I like it because it balances my point of view.
