It's a good exposure but I think it would be better if you had positioned yourself at the other end of the platform so that you caught more of the blank bored faces. The picture then would have had "feeling" thus giving the viewer more empathy with the waiting passengers.

Thx for that I wanted to catch the sweep of the train and the eyes wandering around and ending on the near young lad staring into space but as you say more bored faces would have been good

I think you have enough bored faces in the first three folks to indicate the tone of the entire crowd. Focusing on the faces seems as if it would take away from the intention of your photograph to capture the complete scene.

Thx Maybe ,but I liked the way my eyes took in the whole scene before/after seeing the faces

I think a little drama would have added to your image if there was motion blur concerning the train. I was not able to access the exif data. Increasing shutter speed as I can't tell if the train was moving.

The exposure is good, and I wonder how you got that much depth of field at f2.2. Unfortunately, when you've seen one tube station, you've seem 'em all. The most interesting part of this image is the three people at the right end of the picture, two diddling with their phones and one staring blankly into space. This was shot at 1/40 second, too fast to show any movement in the train (if, indeed, it was moving) which would have added a bit of drama. The train, being on the far track, seems to have little relevance to the people waiting for a train on the near track. The high contrast is well suited to this locale, but it would have been more dramatic with a blurry train screaming by on the near track. Even if the train was actually coming to a stop, the right shutter speed could have made it look like it was screaming by.

Agreed, but what is "shutter speed value"?

I think we're clouding the post, but to answer it's something the Exif reader presents. Maybe this will help. Cheers! S-

Thank you all hogs
mcveed seems to think like I see it (train was still) moving would be better but I was only on a walk about and not carrying a tripod which I wanted for slower speed, But thank you all for comments "shutter speed value?" as well btw Victoria Station London if that's of any interest lol

I would like to see more separation of the tones in the grey scale. Lighten the shadows so the wheels of the train come into view, adjust the contrast and tone down the noise.
