Digital focal length compared to conventional focal lengths

FWIW, per http://en.m.wikipedia.org

"For a 35 mm camera with a diagonal of 43 mm, the most commonly used normal lens is 50 mm, but focal lengths between about 40 and 58 mm are also considered normal. The 50 mm focal length was chosen by Oskar Barnack, the creator of the Leica camera."

And, "G** of photo" said-eth: "35mm (arbitrary measurement - from a 1960's Nikon-F 35mm guy, now Nikon D7200) is the "rule"- thou who sayeth this is not such, or try to understand are... photographers." No matter one's sensor-size or quality of lenses.

Full frame digital cameras have the same angle of view as 35 mm film. It's the point n shoot, bridge cameras, and APS-C cameras (crop sensor) that make us crazy :)
