Update Mamiya RB 67 SD strap

I just bought a second RB 67. They are now giving these away. I bought it for spare parts. What I got was a very clean and complete first model with new seals, clean lens, good WL and 120 back. These are now way cheaper than German folders! I am going to stash this in my car for anytime use.

This body has lugs that actually work with a Mamiya strap or an OP/TECH model B.

My first body must be a factory second, as the lugs will never work. I bought the first body in mint condition from Korea. The lugs are the only thing wrong and they are serviceable. No longer a problem.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me mount a strap to factory defective camera lugs.

I have seen several for sale lately and the price seems to be dropping like a rock for some reason.
I wonder if the Asian bodies had a different strap mount on them for some reason? Or if there was a difference between the Pro S body mount and the Pro SD body mounts?

All RB and RZ take the same strap.

My new one has a 90mm C lens that make the rig way less heavy than an SD with KL lenses and is shorter.

Hanging around my neck, my beer belly makes a good steady perch.

The OP/TECH strap is better than the Mamiya strap and only $23 with lugs.

Addendum, Unpacking an Epson V-700 so I can scan 4 x 5.

I have the optech strap system for my RB. I sold off most of my system a few years ago, but I just can't part with it completely. Such great glass in the C lenses. Believe it or not, I bought mine for landscape work in B&W. I wanted the filmbacks so I could have different rolls of tmax at different contrast levels.

I believe you. One of the main reasons I got into RB's was the plentiful NOS wonderful glass selling for 10 cents on the dollar.

Japan is selling cases of brand new KL glass in OE boxes.

So cool to buy new what used to cost 10 times the price.

I recently bought a 180 KL lens for the RB. The lens new lists for around $1600.00. My price, new from japan, $150.00. The KL lenses are dirt cheap and they are the best.

Must...Not....Look...KL's...dime on the dollar...ARGH!!!

Don't the KL's need a ring to fit on the older ProS bodies?

I know, they're old and heavy, and tripping the shutter caused a seismic event as that giant mirror swung up, but the viewscreen, the bellows focusing, the DoF options, the lenses, the leaf shutter and those nice 6x7 negs. Ahhhh. Of course, back then I had a Pro lab in town that knew what they were doing with roll and sheet film. They'd buy from Kodak and Fuji by the lot, so you could do a whole shoot on the same film. Now I'd have to send off for everything.

Seems like they forced you to think about the image more.

The ring comes with the lens. It can be removed for the different bodies.

I have an RB 67 that is in great shape. Thought I would get a digital back for it from leaf America. Until I found out I needed a second mortgage to get it. Maybe in a couple of years they will be free with a fill up at 7-11.

Update. I got a spanner tool and removed the strap lugs on a couple of RB's. My really nice NOS RB67 SD was assembled wrong. It is possible to install the lug lock collar upside down. Now that I have corrected that factory problem any fool like me can install a strap.

Thanks again for all your help! Especially MT and Goofy.

I bought 2 RB's for parts, but they both work so well I am going to keep them whole. I have one of each RB model and most everything else.

The price on these keeps dropping.

They must have sold a lot of these...

Thanks again for your help!
