How wonderful to be "disturbed" like this!

I live alone and I was sitting in my recliner, TV on, wrapped up in my blanket, hooked up to my oxygen and just not feeling too much in the Christmas spirit..... and the door bell rings. So, I grumble as I unhook the cannula, throw off the blanket, grab my cane and hobble to the door. And THIS is what I saw!!

It was my little neighborhood urchins who came to wish me a Merry Christmas.... and the littlest one said, "We're sorry you aren't feeling very well."

What can I say? What CAN I say? My heart melted and is now in a puddle on the floor!

Now you also have the glow of their warm wishes to help keep warm.

Feel better soon.

These are things I did not know...I've seen you posting a lot on UHH and always admired your photography work. I've admired your woodworking skills and projects and the amazing lenses and cameras you seek. Merry Christmas to you Dewman...I love your photography skills and hope you cherished this wonderful visit by these lovely children.

Thank you for the very kind words, James. The visit by my little neighborhood friends was the greatest thing that could have happened to me today. I'm the neighborhood "grandpa," and I cherish that lofty position I've been assigned. Everyone should be so lucky!

That is awesome. Love it when just the right thing comes along at just the right time. I think I'd print that photo off and give to the parents.
Perfect for Christmas! Merry Christmas! Hope you have a healthy happy New Year!

These little children are perfect examples of good parenting! Extremely polite, always happy and laughing and smiling and are continually hugging each other. Lila, the little one (TR) wearing the red knit cap came over this past Valentines day with her big dog, Onyx, just to wish me a Happy Valentine's Day! How special is that? Yep, I'm a blessed man to have these special little angels in my life.

Here's a photo I took this past summer when two of them were out creating some sidewalk art. I printed four copies off and gave them to their parents, two for them and two for the grandparents. The happiness shown in this photo is so stunning! I have my own copy hanging on my wall!

You have wonderful neighbors. Got you to pick up your camera and get a picture of them too. Now turn off the TV and get out there shooting. :)
