Looks can be deceiving

The attached photo gives the impression that the goose depicted in it is near a body of water, and the opposite shoreline shows at the top. In actuality, the photo was taken at a mall on the west side of town. A small flock of geese routinely comes in to the parking lot early in the morning, and I went up there a few days ago to get some photos. The 'lake' is actually a side road leading to the mall, and shoreline is the curb.

yup, that coulda been a wilderness lake in Canada if you hadn't spilled the beans. Isn't it great what an fstop choice will give you.

Great demo of how DOF can make a mundane photo more interesting. I would have asked at what lake you snapped this one.
