Has anyone used this software as a standalone product? Is it a decent substitute for Lightroom?
Thank you.
I've had the suite for about 3 yrs and mostly use the crop program which is good. I believe you can still use the 30 day free look. Watch the tutorials, do your research and compare with Lightroom. You should know that Lightroom was designed for photographers, has a great cataloging system and a number of very useful editing features. Overall, lightroom works for what I do (although I use photoshop for most of my editing). Use this site to augment your research but don't let it be your one and only shortcut. Good luck.

It's a nice piece of software.
It will do a lot of what LR will do but not all of it.
It won't do much of the local adjustments that LR will do such as skin smoothing, or radial filters or stuff like that.
Download the free trial, see if you like it.
Thank you. I'll try the free trial.
Can you recommend any one of the many books on Lightroom?
Thanks. I'll watch the tutorials, I'm curious as why the crop program is so much better.
Have you tried Topaz?
Ksocha...I have used Exposure as a plugin with my Lightroom when I am working in "Develop" for several years no and it is a wonderful program and the people at Alienskin are supurb....!!!!! Like some have suggested, try the free trial and see for yourself I think you'll like it.......
