Me thinks that the boys might be having a bit of fun also. In fact I will guess that boys are involved in these girls smiles.
This is near the top of the list for your people photography. The tonal range, clarity and composition are superb, I am finding it hard to come up with new adjectives for your work. I wonder what all the smiles are about?

Thank you Judy, the girls were watching a street entertainer. The objects in the foreground are a top hat, a whip and some carrots. I can't recall how these props were used but it tickled the girls

Great photo! As for critique, I'm tempted to see what it looks like with the props in the street artfully removed

I understand where you are coming from Rick but to remove stuff like that is a big no-no in street photography. My conscience wouldn't allow me to do it ;)

OK, then crop them out ;)
(never one for rules. smile)
This is great fun, Graham. I love the way you have processed it. I think you pushed the processing a bit, but for this one it's perfect. It feels 3D. I like the magician's toys laying scattered about. they add to the carefree, in the moment feel of the photograph. I would not crop a thing, but I would like to see the rest of the hat laying on the ground.
Great photo! Really grabs the girls, and of course the viewers. What kind of post did you do to get the HDR-y effect?

The processing was a bit of a departure from my usual style but I thought it worked with this one.

In LR I pushed the Highlights slider almost completely to the left, blacks the same but to the right. This gives you quite a flat image, so just a touch of contrast and clarity. Then into Silver Efex where I started with the High Structure pre-set and fiddled with the sliders until I got what I was looking for. Then it had some dodging and burning in PS. That's the best I can do to describe the way I did it because I don't use any hard and fast methods. It's a suck it and see approach, each image on it's own merits.

Well, well, well!!! You finally got one that is naughty and nice. Santa will be well pleased when he finds his list shortened considerably from all the naughty thoughts boys are having about this bevy of heavenly beauties. He will be grateful to you for bringing about a terrific lightening of his load.
And I, pure of thought that I am, will have to attend confession first thing in the morning if I am to take the host in good conscience on the morrow.
All kidding aside, Graham, this is a continuation of your most excellent stories of life in Londontown. I think the tonalities are just right for the story and the things lying around are all additions that cause us to wonder what is going on. The girls are tickled by something and we wonder what that is. It's enough to see this set of friends have such a great time at something beyond our view.
I love every pixel of this photograph. As Sandra said, you have processed it perfectly.

Yup! :-D .... to everything Jim said.
Great photo Graham as usual, your B&W by far my favourite. As for the 3 objects on the road, the photo would still be as effective if 3 other similarly sized random objects were similarly placed.
This is a masterpiece Graham.
A pure masterpiece.
It almost made me blush.
Hey Jim, make room on that confessional pew mate.

Spoken like a true penitent.
By the bye, I wasn't aware Aussies blushed.
