D-750/printer problem

This time of year I shoot photos of children with Santa for my Vietnam Veterans chapter. I discovered that with my Canon Selphy CP910 tethered to the D-750, I can't get the camera to trip the shutter. It also happens with it connected to my Acer lap top. Disconnected, no problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It sounds like the camera is too new for the printer.

Also had the same problem with my D-610. The way we circumvented the problem was to swap out the SD cards but with 50+ kids it became tedious at best.

Check for software updates on every item connected in your set up.

So you've had this issue with two generations of Nikon Cameras, you know they don't work with your printer/or computer but you keep using them? It's either the laptop or printer that isn't compatible. Or the need to update software on one or the other?Or replace one or both. Q- are all your memory cards the same brand? If so, try another well known maker. Lexar, Sandisk and Kingston are the largest manufacturers. Buy from reputable camera stores- not e bay.

After reading the Canon features blurb on the web page for the printer and Nikon's blurb on wi fi on the camera, I get the notion that it might be a connectivity problem between the camera and the printer. If this is the case add a laptop or tablet to the mix and have the camera send the files to the computer or tablet and have the tablet transfer to the printer.

bparr1 posted that there were tethering issues with both his laptop and the printer, so it could be in the tethering software he is using. No mention of wireless.

In the Canon features section on that printer's web page it talks about using either the card reader or using the Android/IOS tablets wirelessly. It does not say you can tether a camera to it directly.

We swapped out two PNY SD cards.

I did try connecting my LG Android phone to the printer but either the printer couldn't find the phone or the phone couldn't find the printer. :-(

I doubt if PNY memory cards are on the recommended list for Canon or Nikon products.Your choice of this brand could be your problem. Try A SanDisk card, purchased from a reputable dealer(not on E Bay or Craigs List).

Go to Tethertools.com They have a blog, forum and sell products and software for tethering applications for Nikon and Canon Cameras /Mac and Windows computers. You should find some specific help on that site. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it. My son-in-law is an IT tech and it is his opinion that the Acer doesn't have the correct driver for either the D-610 or the D-750. Which dovetails with your suggestion. Thanks again.
