I attempted to restore three old photos of my wife's forerunners.
Her grandmother traveled alone from Indiana to Montana about 1911 and became a school teacher. She married a Montana sheep header and had a son, my wife's father. Grandma was also a photographer who gave us all a great collection of memories from those old homesteading days.
The value of photography!

Stunning!! (And grandma looks like no slouch!! Beautiful lady.) You've inspired me to review a trove of photos from my grandfather produced during the Spanish American War in the early 1900's.

Hopefully your treasures will survive another century! Thanks for sharing - beautifully done!!

(#2 reminds me of the famous Eugene Smith photo)

Great photos!!! I have many of my grandfather's photos that are probably 100 years old or close to it. The ones I treasure most are the ones of him with his motorcycles. I have motorcycles, also and never knew he rode until many years after he passed. My mother always hoped it was a fad I would give up but I haven't.

Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for sharing your old family photo's. This is what photography is all about, to be able to go back 100 years and catch that one moment in time.

And they wouldn't even let me carry one little concealed handgun when I was teaching!!!!!!

I did work with a few teachers who went armed.
One shop teacher was a reserve PD Sgt and had a written order from his chief to always carry concealed everyday.
One LAPD officer was assigned to LAUSD to teach classes on "Youth and the Law" under a program called "Officer in the Classroom" and he was required to either wear a suit with concealed handgun or wear his full uniform with all gear. He was in the room next to me for a couple of years, then budget cuts at the PD killed the program. He had a teaching credential and planned a second career as a teacher when he retired from LAPD.

I'll bet she had no problems keeping order in class. What a beautiful lady. Great photographs and wonderful history of your ancestors, Kingmapix.
