Have I been ripped off?

IN October I was greeted with the following link in an email.

http://colorright.us/index.php/led-lighting/lumenator-hidden-bundle.html

So I placed an order and waited. After 5 weeks nothing showed up so I sent an email and was told there were delays. Then the Thanksgiving holiday cut in. On 12/1 I requested a refund. I got back an answer, sort of.

Today I opened a dispute with my credit card company.

Don't don't whether this company is legit or not, but I'm always wary of ordering online from anyone who does not have a customer service phone number, unless its a well known company. Did you check the reference to this payment on your charge statement? For some banks, like my bank Wells Fargo, it often includes a phone number that may not be otherwise available. Good luck.

that is why one used a CREDIT card, not a debit card.... over the years I have had many disputes and all get resolved.. I guess the credit card company has a lotta clout with those guys... it will work out for ya.. one company had been billing me about $9 every month, dammned if I knew what I had signed up for but in the end I got about 4 months credit and the problem went away.. the only thing that can getcha with a credit card is the last entry last month may be duplicated as the first entry this month..[a local outfit named Towers flowers did that to me once, i get flowers elsewhere now, but they did fix it]. gotta watch the bastards..... Well at least they have a mailing address:

ColorRight Tools, LLC., 10945 State Bridge Road, Suite 401-112, Alpahretta, GA 30022

Seems like the town is misspelled on their web site, It is Alpharetta, GA.

From the BBB:

rated F

Reason for the rating:
13 complaints filed against business
Failure to respond to 10 complaints filed against business.

When I worked briefly as a Google website evaluator one of the rules was that a good website that is considered valid with rich content to achieve a high search ranking will have a real land-based address complete with phone number plus some text about contacting, problem solving, returns, etc. That site has a "contact us" page with nothing but a fill in form to send them an e-mail.

That implies they are something like an Amazon. or other type of. reseller with no real location other than their kitchen table or folding card table in the garage. You may have been ripped off.

Your credit card should be alerted immediately. They'll try to contact the seller and if they fail, you will likely get a refund from the credit card company itself. At least that's been the case for me in the past.

Besides, an unsolicited email from a company you haven't done business with in the past is spam, and I never order anything from any spam that comes to my various mailboxes. I'll look at a spam to see if something is interesting in it, then I Google the product and see if I can find the original website where the product manufacturer is and bypass the spam's link all together. The spams are "affiliates" who just put up links, when you click they get paid, and they have no responsibility for your satisfaction or whether you get the product or not.
