A few more from my collection...

A bit more 'fossilly' and less 'minerally' this time.

The block with the Ammonites was the first item in my collection. It came from the south coast of England, near Lyme Regis. They were swimming around down there some 350 million years ago...

What I really like about it is, apart from the obvious star of the show, there are dozens of other much smaller specimens in the rock. You can see a couple of decent ones on the right-hand of the face, but there are loads of others where just an edge is visible. I have thought many times of breaking it open, but I would hate to destroy the main 'face'.

I like to think of myself as a poor man's Leonardo da Vinci... *snort*

I just have lots of interests is all. I go through phases where I am fanatical about something, then it gets put on the shelf for a while before coming back into favour. I also arrange music, and even composed a couple of little pieces. Haven't managed to get anything published yet, but my church choir have sung a couple of my arrangements, and I have done quite a few for our handbell choir over the years.

The 'active' collecting has been on a pause for a while, as I just don't have the shelf space. I have stuff crammed everywhere... Here is an old pic of my main 'display area'.

Thanks guys! I have another bunch to post tomorrow, and I spent most of today shooting a whole new batch. It will take a few days to process them, though, since I have a shoot tomorrow for a family of friends, and I will have to get those sorted out first. *sigh*

Just joking! I certainly have had to charge up a whole heap of batteries this evening, though! What with the ring-light, the flash and the camera, I'm certainly glad I don't use duracells any more!
