This is the Mississippi Memorial from the Gettysburg battlefield. It lies at the right-hand end of the Confederate line on Seminary Ridge.

That's an amazing place. How many exposures did you shoot and which software did you use?

This one was 4 exposures, and I just processed them in LR. I haven't sent any HDR to PS since LR started doing it internally. I spent a long time that day, just making my way along the ridge. I think I probably took about 300 shots, making up 80-something HDR images.

I was using the 7D, which doesn't auto-bracket, or at least, not for me. So, I was shooting manual, and sometimes took 3, or 4 or 5, depending on the scene. As you can see, it was a beautiful sunny day, but with the trees there was a lot of contrast to play with.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm enjoying the LR version of HDR too.

My primary camera these days is the small M4/3 Panasonic LX100. It will auto bracket so fast I can hand hold and LR will fix any alignment if needed. It makes it as easy as a snapshot. I now look for scenes wiht extreme exposure ranges where I can take advantage if what the camera and LR can do so easily.

 very nice, especially good that you included your portrait in the granite statue base. I've used PS hdr but prefer photomatix.

Nicely done, Bloke. So easy to get fringing on the trees but I see none of that here.
