I used my Ps CS6 program to edit one acrobat file that I had created via a scan. I wanted to keep it Saved as a pfd file. This was a one time need. Now after doing so every time I try to save a file of a new image that I had edited Ps initially asks me (chooses) to select pfd as the file format to choose too. I otherwise never use it with Ps. I want Ps to "automatically" choose the last format selected which is either PSD or JPG or occasionally TIFF. Sure I can select any other file format (if I notice), but usually I am saving my Ps CS6 work as PSD files or JPG for Printing or Web Publishing. I did notice some message about something being changed when I used to Ps to save to PFD (there were several version standards I could select). How do I set Ps back to the way it was selecting the last used format?
It is rather hard to search Adobe's help files and resources for "pfd" or "acrobat" since it usually points to Acrobat and not Photoshop. Thank you.

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/983842I think the answer is
Just next time you gonna save it press CTRL+SHFT+S then press and hold ALT and while you hold it down choose the format you want and then save it...next time it will be done...The KEY to the whole case is the "ALT
use cmd instead of ctrl on a mac.
It may be complicated by the format your document is in. if it has 16bits and layers then photoshop will not want to use jpeg as its 8 bit and a single layer... the linked thread expounds on this, with some inaccurate answers too of course but I think that the answer i pulled out of that thread seems most plausible.
So I'm holding down three keys (hand #1) and also a holding down a fourth key (hand #2) and (with my third hand?) making a selection? I think it would be simpler to just pay attention each time.
Thanks for the tip. I may be missing something, but my left hand is capable of holding all four keys down simultaneously.

Great, that seems to have fixed it. Thank You. On a PC anyway, CTRL+SHFT+S does not have to be selected by hand, you can use the Menus with a Mouse! Yes Alt is the key!
Thanks
