Well, since winter has set in here in frigid Idaho, and the photo ops are at a bare minimum, I've been digging through my files, looking for some images I can post to remain an active part of this group of "pitcher takers." If I happen to post some that I've already posted before, I apologize. I'll try NOT to do that.
Have you ever came upon a scene that in real life, looked absolutely stunning with brilliant, breath-taking colors and so you shoot a few shots of it.... then when you get home and download them, they just don't come close to doing the actual scene justice? This is one of them! Here's what I'm talking about.
I was driving along a country road and this house had a gorgeous bed of brilliant yellow daffodils out by the road that were backlit from the early morning sunshine. They were so bright and crisp, they were almost hard on my eyes! So, of course, I had to take some shots of it. But, when I got home and downloaded them, what a disappointment!
I would have gotten down and taken some close-ups, but my hips and knees were not in agreement with that idea that particular day!

Very pretty--must be downloaded to appreciate. :-) :D
I know exactly what you're talking about Dewman, and it must be pretty typical of situations where you have such a high contrast. This shot turned out beautifully though in spite of the difficult lighting.
The download is certainly NOT disappointing, Dewman; they're beautiful and you did a good job!
