Either the driver for the sound card did not install correctly, or it has switched to using another sound source. HDMI video card for example.

Right click for properties on "This PC" and choose device manager. See if you have any warning flags under "Sound video and game controllers".

If not, go to control panel, choose Sound, and make sure your sound card is set as the default source.

No warning flags under "Sound video and game controllers".
Under sound it only shows "AMD HDMI Output" as Default, when I test the little meter shows sound.

The default should be speakers not HDMI . If you cannot find a way to do this, simply remove the device using device manager, then restart the computer and allow it to reinstall the sound card driver automatically.

All you should need to do is select your sound card, and click set as default. It is probably something like "Realtek ...etc".

Try this: Right click on the speaker icon lower right on the monitor screen. Click on playback devices and make sure your speakers are selected as default. Hope this helps

Check to make sure the sound is not turned off or set too low to hear. There is a speaker icon in the lower right side of the task bar at the bottom of the screen.

Also, (I know this sounds dumb because I've done it) check to see that your speakers are plugged into the right socket.
