I have quite a few flash drives because the capacity keeps rising as the price keeps falling. The problem is that when I take one out of the drawer, I have no idea what the capacity is. Where possible, I write it on the drive itself, but that isn't always possible. It would be nice if the manufacturers could print the storage limit on the side of the drive.

Well, Ms. Wendy Weiner, we can't expect to have everything now, can we? Ha, ha! Seriously, until you mentioned this, I never paid attention. I guess I am just obtuse.

One way would be to color code them red for 8gb blue for 12gb and so on.

I just use a permanent "sharpie" fine point pen and label each one before I start using it No problems in the future
Also Best Buy has Doorbuster sales on flash drives and San disk this weekend I just picked up 2 sandisk extreme plus (32gb) for my Nikon 7100 at 17.99 each; a 128gb sandisk flash drive for 19.99 and a 16gb sandisk flash drive for 3.99 Total savings of $160.00

That's good for black or irregular surfaces.

Scratch a number on plastic or the metal USB plug.
With a carbide scribe you can mark nearly anything.

I have 8

I have 8 flash drives 5 of them have the GB printed on one
side. I have numbered them 1 --8 with a small piece of tape.
I have 8 cards numbered 1--8 on these cards I can make notes telling how many pictures & what is on them. such as
gran kids -flowers-ducks & others.

Jerry, Lacie Key drives...had a couple for a few years without a problem, even after my wife ran one though a wash cycle...my fault for not checking my pockets.
