When rains and wind have removed what was left of the fall foliage, when leaves have begun to shrivel and die, its time to resuscitate and bring some life back to them with some Still Life!

I like the composition but the stark white background bothers my eyes. I would like to see a bit of color.

Such a striking image, Carlysue! I love the contrast of shapes and colors.

I'd be curious about comparing to one with a bit of color in background as dragonswing suggests. Just something very soft and light, perhaps?

The colors and composition are spot on. Beautiful arrangement, that.

Terrific shot. It captures the essence of autumn in very few elements. It would be fun and fascinating to play with it in post-processing and then frame four shots with different processing, tint and so on.

This is beautiful, Carla! Love the arrangement and how strongly it's emphasized by the white background, hinting at the snow to come and the mix of seasons this time of year.

Excellent work!

Allow me to repeat what Bob Yankle and Treepusher (Randy) have said Carla.
In addition, a change in the BG could well be a distraction.
Also, I think the color is just right.

Sorry about your eyes, dragonswing, but I do appreciate what you say and thank you for looking and your comment. The original had a pink/lavender bg cast but I thought it dulled the color of the leaves. :-)

Thank you for looking and your comment,Linda. You know I value your opinion. As I said to dragonswing above, the original had a pink/lavender cast but I loved the pop and in-your-face color. I shot quite a few, I'll continue to play :-)

Bob, I truly appreciate your input and encouragement. I do tend to doubt myself--kind of a Picasso brain where, after a while, everything looks skewed!

I appreciate you taking your time to look and comment, frjack. I did several renditions of this, some with fewer blossoms, some with all dark leaves, etc. A grouping would look good and a fun time playing with each.
